I am a marketing specialist with a keen eye for detail and a love for developing strategies. I am extremely extroverted and love engaging with people and developing strong relationships.

Marketing Specialist

May 2019 - February 2020

At the Canadian Bar Association, I have had the opportunity to work on multiple campaigns focused on immigration law, professional development for lawyers, and highlighting a focus on women in law.  

  • Increased website traffic for immigration law resources page by over 8000%    
  • Developed new strategies to market professional development conferences and webinars including email blasts, organic social media, and paid digital ads

While working on the CBA’s social media plan, I developed a social calendar for important dates throughout the year to highlight to develop more organic traffic. I was also able to work on developing a new strategy for the CBA to further improve its LinkedIn presence.  

Working with another colleague, I had the opportunity to redevelop the web layout for the national conferences to be more appealing, user-friendly and accessible.  


Outreach Officer

May 2017 - December 2018

I worked on many files during my time at the CRTC as I worked within a diverse team that focused on marketing, stakeholder relations and parliamentary affairs. Here are some of the projects I’m most proud of:

  • Managed over 100 order paper questions and developed new digital system for approvals that increased efficiency
  • Developed new performance indicator tracking system for entire Outreach team to track key metrics for evaluating success
  • Increased the CRTC’s social media presence by creating monthly social media schedules for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn  

Along with those projects, I worked on various other tasks in the outreach team, including:

  • Managed key parliamentary affairs and stakeholder relations files and provided recommendations to senior staff
  • Developed and oversaw advertising proposals, including researching best mediums for advertising, making recommendations to clients, organizing contracts for the ad-buys, and organizing graphics with creative services team
  • Evaluated key metrics and analytics of social media posts using Hootsuite
  • Created target audience profiles for different marketing strategies
  • Wrote content for internal communications including weekly news and digital screens

I discovered early on in my degree that marketing and business was definitely the right path for me. Throughout my degree, I was able to excel academically, as well as through various extra-curricular involvements.

Telfer Marketing Association (TMA)

 

May 2016 - April 2019

Co President (May 2018 - April 2019)

  • Managed 18 executive members with 5 teams including marketing, external, internal, events, and finance
  • Ensured the successful transition of executive members into their roles
  • Oversaw the budgets and ensure all teams stay on track with the budgets
  • Secured new sponsors for the association and ensured all sponsors expectations were met and exceeded
  • Created and assisted organizing a new flagship event, Pitch Your Brand
  • Dealt with internal conflicts within team members

VP of External Affairs (May 2017 - April 2018)

  • Responsible for overseeing the execution of the sponsorship program and community engagement
  • Increased sponsorship from previous year by 320%
  • Organized and planned events for our sponsors and partners, including 3 new networking events and 5 digital marketing workshops
  • Responsible for securing networkers from 25 companies to attend our flagship event, Mad Marketing
  • Renewed sponsor relationships from the previous year, and maintained the sponsorship database
